As Fire Chief, I would like to be the first to welcome you to the Philomath Fire District.

Philomath Fire & Rescue has a proud history of serving our community and is endowed with some of the finest fire service professionals in the country. The men and women of PF&R are highly trained, extremely dedicated, and steadfastly focused on their core mission of service to the community - to serve you. From our frontline Firefighters to our Volunteers, we are committed to providing the highest levels of service possible.

For 90 years, your Firefighters and EMS Volunteers have bravely and successfully confronted the hazards of our growing community and continue to mitigate complex life-safety problems through education, risk management, strategic planning, and emergency deployment. We are a unique organization that strives to anticipate the needs of the citizens and have a long tradition of providing high-quality medical, rescue, and fire services to this community.

I am proud to represent such a fine organization. I am impressed daily with the professionalism, dedication, integrity, and resourcefulness of the men and women of our District and the commitment to the citizens, visitors, and businesses of Philomath. We continuously seek ways to rethink how we provide services to be more efficient, more adaptable, and more responsive to the needs of our community.

It is our commitment to you that we stand ready to assist you in your time of need day or night, with respect, professionalism, empathy, and compassion; as we have done for the past 90 years.

District Personnel

We rely on our cadre of volunteer fire and EMS responders, 4 Career Firefighters, Deputy Chief, Fire & Life Safety Captain, and the Fire Chief to provide the manpower to cover the needs of the community. In addition to emergency response, our volunteers provide medical and fire standby at events, help with fire and life safety education around the community and attend regular training to keep their skills and knowledge current.  There are six Resident Volunteer Firefighters who live at Station 201, two Resident Volunteers live at Station 202, and two Resident Volunteers live at Station 203.  Philomath’s main fire station is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing immediate response to all types of emergencies.

Philomath Fire & Rescue personnel consistently participate in continuing education. In addition to basic fire and medical emergencies, services we provide include search and rescue, vehicle rescue (extrication), BLS emergency medical services, and hazardous material response.

PF&R provides a wide range of public education and prevention services. The department remains committed to the safety and health of all Philomath residents and visitors and responds accordingly.
