Fire Officer III & IV Classes - May 9th - 13th, & 16th - 20th, 2022
This 2- week course meets the needs of fire executive management and satisfies the requirements of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1021 Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications, Chapters six “Fire Officer 3” and seven “Fire Officer 4”. The course is designed around classroom lectures and group interactive exercises to improve your abilities to manage a fire service organization. The course emphasizes community/government relations, model planning, budgeting, human resources, trends and support organizations, and emergency service delivery. The course includes a written project that requires you to develop a strategic plan.
The prerequisite for this course includes verified certification in Fire Officer II.
The registration fee for this course includes the IFSTA Chief Officer book as well as lunch for each day of the class. Tangent Fire & Rescue will be hosting this 2-week course.
This course is being taught by Fire Chief Tom Miller of Philomath Fire & Rescue. He has 32 years in the Fire Service with more than a dozen in leadership.
